Our team successfully completed the enabling works for the extension of an existing hospital building, transforming a previously developed site into a foundation for future healthcare infrastructure. Following the demolition of existing structures, we undertook extensive remediation efforts to prepare the site for construction. A significant aspect of our approach was the on-site processing of hardstanding materials. We meticulously broke out and crushed these materials, creating a high-quality aggregate suitable for reuse. This recycled material was then employed to form the pile mat, ensuring a stable base for the new extension. Additionally, we conducted a reduced-level excavation to establish a temporary ramp, facilitating access for subsequent construction activities. In our commitment to safety and structural integrity, we removed an existing retaining wall that posed a risk of collapse against the existing buildings. By reusing materials and minimizing waste, we significantly reduced the project’s carbon footprint, aligning with sustainable construction practices.
