Our recent housing development project in Sheerness involved comprehensive earthworks to prepare the site for construction. Initially, we conducted a topsoil strip and executed a cut-to-fill operation to achieve the required formation levels. This process involved the careful excavation and redistribution of materials to create a stable and level base suitable for subsequent construction activities.

Following the earthworks, we were tasked with excavating a section of the road box on-site. This step was crucial for establishing the road infrastructure, ensuring proper drainage, and facilitating access to the development. Additionally, we prepared several plots by cutting them to the specified levels, providing a solid foundation for the groundworkers to proceed with their tasks.

To support the construction of the piling mats for the plots, we adhered to a temporary works design. This design outlined the necessary measures to ensure the stability and safety of the piling mats during the construction phase. We utilized our tipper fleet to import quarried 6F5 material, which was then laid and compacted to achieve the required California Bearing Ratio (CBR). This process was essential for providing a firm and reliable base for the piling operations.

Throughout the project, we maintained a focus on quality and safety, ensuring that all activities were carried out in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. The successful completion of these earthworks has paved the way for the next stages of development, contributing to the timely progression of the housing project.
