Our team undertook the enabling works for a significant new bypass project in Blackburn, transforming a challenging brownfield site into a vital infrastructure asset. The project involved extensive bulk earthworks, including a large-scale cut and fill operation and the excavation of a 5,000m² attenuation lake. To minimise environmental impact, we prioritised the reuse of on-site materials wherever possible. We imported clay fill material using our tipper wagons and sourced recycled aggregates from our washplant facility to create a clean, capped-off site, ready for the next phase of development. Additionally, we cut and compacted materials within the retention pond to ensure stability and proper drainage. This approach not only reduced transportation emissions but also aligned with our commitment to sustainability by recycling materials and reducing our carbon footprint. The project exemplifies our dedication to delivering large-scale infrastructure projects with a focus on environmental responsibility.
